Privacy policy

The short version
next-convert converts files on your own device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or shared with anyone. We don't use accounts or cookies. We do count which pages are opened.
Your files
When you add a file, your browser reads it into memory on your device and converts it there. Neither the file nor the result is sent over the network. Both are removed from memory when you press Clear, reload the page or close the tab.
What we don't collect
We don't collect the contents or names of your files, your conversion history, your name or your email address. There is no account system on this site.
Page views
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It records the page you open, the site that referred you, your browser, device type and country. It does not use cookies, and it never receives your files or their names.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It records the pages you view, how you got here, your browser, device and approximate location, and uses cookies to recognise returning visitors. Google Analytics never receives your files or their names.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads at https://adssettings.google.com. Read how Google uses this data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads never receive your files or their names.
Server logs
Like every website, the server that delivers next-convert receives technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This information is used only to deliver the site and keep it secure, and is not kept longer than needed for that purpose.
Cookies and local storage
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to tell visits apart, and Google AdSense sets advertising cookies. We don't set any other cookies. The converter remembers your option choices, such as JPG quality, in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Third parties
Conversion code, fonts and libraries are served from next-convert.com itself. Vercel Web Analytics, Google Analytics and Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd.) receive the data described above. Google may process this data outside the EU. None of them receive your files.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply to you, and keep the conversation only as long as needed.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because we don't collect personal data through the converter, this mostly applies to email you send us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how next-convert handles data, we will update this page and the date below the title.
